CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP IN PUNTA DEL ESTE
A space to write, develop your creativity, meet new people and discover a side of yourself that may have been hidden.
We work in a supportive environment, in small groups, where every writer's process matters. The sessions include materials, exercises, and afternoon refreshments.

How we work
Each session includes the following activities:
– Literary exploration: we look at narrative concepts and tools
– Live writing: we write from focused prompts
– Afternoon snack: a moment to pause and enjoy a delicious coffee and something tasty
– Reading and feedback: we share texts (optional) and discuss them

PERSONALIZED WRITING COACHING
This one-on-one coaching service combines professional manuscript editing with the tools and techniques of a creative writing workshop. The goal is not only to improve the text you are currently working on, but also to help you understand narrative choices and develop skills you can apply to this book and future projects.
The coaching is tailored to each writer's needs and may address character development, scenes, dialogue, point of view, structure, voice, and world-building. It may also include guidance on the publishing industry and different paths to publication.
You may choose individual sessions or packages of five or ten sessions, either online or in person in Punta del Este.
MY WRITING BACKGROUND
I am Giorgina Cerutti, a certified English-Spanish translator from the University of the Republic (Uruguay), with a PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and a master's degree in Creative Writing from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain). Widely regarded as the leading Spanish-language program of its kind, the master's features faculty members such as Jorge Carrión, Juan Villoro, Martín Caparrós, Samanta Schweblin, Rodrigo Fresán, Enrique Vila-Matas, Andrés Neuman, Leila Guerriero, Mónica Ojeda, and Antonio Muñoz Molina, among others. Barcelona is also one of the world's publishing capitals, and the program regularly welcomes prominent contemporary writers, editors, and critics.
My debut novel is Cruzar, a historical coming-of-age novel, based on the life of Ona, my Lithuanian great-grandmother. Researching and writing the book allowed me to explore some of the particular challenges of historical fiction, including period reconstruction, working with sources, and balancing fact and fiction. My other works awaiting publication include short stories, an autofiction novel, and a nonfiction novel.
Cruzar won second prize in the unpublished fiction category of Uruguay's 2024 National Literature Awards and was published by Planeta in October 2025. Its first print run of 1,000 copies sold out in less than six months, leading to a second edition in April 2026, now available in bookstores throughout Uruguay. The ebook and audiobook editions are available worldwide.
